I grew up here in Nashville, playing in the dappled light beneath the trees that drape themselves over Woodmont Blvd. I was fortunate to live there for nearly 13 years behind a church on 6 acres of property with beautiful gardens tended with love and care by my mother and father. My family owned a business in town at that time that cleaned, stain-proofed, and fire protected high end furniture, rugs and fabrics. Helping out there over my summer breaks introduced me to a world of rich, bold patterning and design. I aim to marry these influences in my work, combining irregular, organic imagery with crisp, ornate patterns. I use the sgraffito method, carving my designs by hand without use of stamps or stencils.
