Students will learn how to use ferric chloride as a colorant for aluminum foil saggar firing.
Firings will be done in a propane heated Raku Kiln.
A saggar is a closed container for a pot inside a kiln. It creates a reduction atmosphere in an oxidation firing. Fee for this workshop… $65
- Bring 4 bisque fired 2 lb pots (a smooth, white clay body that has been burnished or terra sig’d gives best results- but any clay body will work)
- Bring a sack lunch.
- Wear long sleeves, old clothes and shoes (the ferric chloride will ruin any clothing it touches)
